National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week,
October 5-11, 2008

The Third Annual National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week encourages communities nationwide to work together to increase awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on all children. For more information, Pacer's website at: http://www.pacer.org/bullying/bpaw/index.asp
National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week Receives Major Boost from Yahoo!Kids: Yahoo!Kids, a premier national Web site for children, is featuring PACER Center’s third annual National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week at kids.yahoo.com through Friday, Oct. 10. Parents are encouraged to visit the site and PACERKidsAgainstBullying.org to learn how to prevent and respond to bullying.
Up to one-third of American students will be bullied this year. New research from UCLA sheds more light on the scope of the problem: Nearly 75 percent of teens had been bullied online at least once in a recent year, and only 10 percent told an adult. What’s more, 85 percent of those bullied online had been bullied at school.
Yahoo!Kids’ promotion of National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week reflects one of the key messages of the week: Community involvement and partnership are essential in dealing with this serious, national problem.
