Colleen Arnold, Ed.D, is our new Board President
As our new Board President, Colleen Arnold, Ed.D, brings a wealth of experience to Matrix Parent Network and Resource Center. Colleen completed her doctorate in special education at University of San Francisco (USF) and has offered several popular trainings at Matrix, including:
- What’s the Big Deal Between Diploma and Certificate?
- Understanding Assessments
- Understanding Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
- Understanding Dyslexia
- SMART IEP Goals
- The 3 Selfs: Self-Advocacy, Self-Determination, and Self-Compassion, presented with Professionals Empowering Parents (PEP)
Colleen has worked as a professor at Dominican University and USF, training future educators in areas of assessment, behavior, and Individualized Education Programs. She has worked as an education specialist in both the public and non-public school sector. Colleen also works as a curriculum and educational consultant for Cypress School in Petaluma, as well as an inclusion specialist.
Dr. Arnold’s work with families across Marin County empowers students with learning differences through strength-based solutions for both school and home. Colleen founded Arnold Advocacy LLC. She specializes in working with students with learning disabilities, autism, and attention differences, as well as those with behavioral challenges.
