On the Shoulders of Giants Scientific Symposium
Thursday, October 12, 2023 • 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time • Free Virtual Event
The symposium will celebrate the work of Mary Jane Rotheram-Borus, PhD, the winner of our Sarah Gund Prize for Research and Mentorship in Child Mental Health.
Dr. Rotheram is a professor in the department of Child Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA and Director of the Global Center for Children and Families at UCLA’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. A leader in the recent push to use disruptive technologies to overcome healthcare disparities, she will present her work on her groundbreaking programs to prevent a range of negative health outcomes for structurally marginalized children and families.
She will be joined by two of her proteges who will also present their work: Dr. Marguerita Lightfoot, chief for the Division of Prevention Science at UCSF School of Medicine, and Dr. Chadwick Campbell, assistant professor at UCSD. Following these presentations, there will be a roundtable discussion of technology’s ability to break down barriers to mental health care delivery in low- and middle-income communities.
This virtual event will be recorded and shared with all registrants.Register Now
